Arun Subramanian

Judge Arun Subramanian presided over the proceedings and instructed the jury before opening statements on Day 5. He told jurors to decide the case impartially on admitted evidence, keep an open mind until deliberations, avoid outside information and communications about the case, and assess witness credibility themselves.

He explained that opening statements were not evidence, that the government had to prove each element beyond a reasonable doubt, and that Sean Combs had no obligation to present a defense. He also addressed the trial schedule and juror privacy.

On Day 37, Judge Subramanian gave final instructions on the presumption of innocence, reasonable doubt, credibility, the five counts, and the legal standards governing the charged offenses and related alleged racketeering acts. He directed the jury to consider each count separately, explained the verdict sheet and its Count One findings, and sent the jury to deliberate.

After the final instructions, he ordered substantive subject lines removed from the defense exhibit list so the jury materials would remain neutral.
