Bryana Bongolan

Bryana Bongolan testified for the prosecution on Days 20 and 21 after receiving immunity. On direct examination, she described her friendship with Casandra Ventura and alleged violence, drug use, and threats involving Sean Combs. She gave an account of being lifted onto the railing of Ventura's 17th-floor balcony and thrown onto furniture, and identified admitted photographs that she said showed her resulting injuries.

Defense cross-examination continued across both days. Counsel questioned Bongolan about immunity, her friendship and drug use with Ventura, civil litigation against Combs, prior government interviews, demand letters, and her civil complaint. Bongolan acknowledged using drugs with Ventura and selling drugs to her, but disputed that they used drugs every day. She also acknowledged inaccuracies in her civil materials, attributing them to lawyers or other circumstances, and said a demand letter had improperly combined an alleged threat with the balcony event while she maintained the events were separate.

The court allowed the government to admit a text exhibit and allowed defense questioning about it before Bongolan left the stand. On redirect, the government addressed a date discrepancy; on recross, the defense questioned her about her lawsuit, injury photographs, requested damages, and whether becoming a millionaire motivated her. Bongolan denied that motive and said she cared about justice. Afterward, the court denied a defense mistrial motion and later a requested Napue instruction, concluding that cross-examination had made the asserted inconsistency available to the jury.
